This Privacy Policy explains how IndieCircle ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and stores information when you apply to and use our service at myindiecircle.com. We keep this straightforward.
1. What Data We Collect
When you fill out our application questionnaire, we collect the information you voluntarily provide, which may include:
- Your name and email address
- Your city/location
- Your product or startup stage and description
- Your goals, challenges, and what you're looking for in a peer group
- Your preferred pod schedule or meeting cadence
- Any other answers you provide in the questionnaire
We do not collect sensitive personal data (e.g. financial information, government IDs) through the questionnaire.
2. Where It's Stored
Your questionnaire responses are stored in Google Sheets via Google Apps Script. Access is limited to IndieCircle team members who review applications. We do not sell or rent your data to third parties.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use the information you provide to:
- Review your application and assess fit for a pod
- Match you with other founders at a similar stage or with complementary strengths
- Contact you by email regarding your application status and next steps
- Communicate community updates, pod logistics, and member communications
4. Email Communication
If your application is approved, we will contact you at the email address you provided with an invitation to subscribe and join your pod. By submitting the questionnaire, you agree to receive this transactional email. We do not send unsolicited marketing emails.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate IndieCircle:
- Vercel — website hosting
- Google Sheets / Google Apps Script — application data storage and processing
- Stripe — payment processing for subscriptions. Stripe handles all payment data; we do not store your card details.
- Telegram — pod group chats and community communication
Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
We retain your application data for as long as your membership is active or as needed to operate the service. If you'd like your data deleted, email us at olivier@myindiecircle.com and we'll remove it within 30 days.
7. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the effective date at the top of this page when we do. Continued use of IndieCircle after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
